Vocational Rehabilitation

Vocational Rehabilitation Services

If an injured employee is found unable to return to his or her former work, the Department’s Office of Education and Vocational Rehabilitation Services (OEVR) may review the matter and find the worker suitable for vocational assistance, which can include retraining, assistance in compiling a resume and a job search. The insurer pays for these services. Workers’ Compensation benefits for weekly disability are payable in most cases while the employee is pursuing vocational assistance or schooling. A vocational rehabilitation plan can provide for schooling for up to two years.
